INDIA- An example of Unity in Diversity
India is quite a religious county. If you are planning to
visit India Today or Tomorrow, you need to know few things about this diverse
culture you are about to visit.
India is the second most populous country in the world with
more than 30 majorly different varieties of culture and cuisines.
You might think it would be difficult to have a conversation
in India. Here is the GOOD NEWS. It’s
not as difficult as in China, as most Indians can speak/ understand most of the
English words and can surely guide the way through. There are more than 22 official languages
spoken in India (apart the local languages) and the national language is Hindi
and second most common language is English (which almost everyone speaks/understand)
You can find peoples belonging to all different religion.
It’s pretty difficult to find a country following different religions an yet
living peacefully.
Morning starts with
Muslim’s prayer (Azan) and evening ends with the temple bells. I have been to many countries. And so far I
find India been more diverse. Christians, Muslims, Sikh, Jewish would be seen
celebrating Diwali (A Hindu festival of lights and fire crackers and lots of
sweets), Holi (A Hindu festival of colors, happiness and party) . Hindus,
Jewish, and more hugging each other and celebrating Eid (A Muslim festival of lights, prayers and
sweets) And on top You must see how they celebrate Christmas in India. Like how
cool is it !!!
You know what the best part is? Government Holidays for
every festival. I know, I might sound
crazy but really who don’t crave for holidays? And I guess that’s the reason,
you will find more peoples celebrating all festivals in India.
India is a secular country and all religions enjoys the equal
rights of being an Indian. Also, India is
a home of more than a lakh of refugees from neighboring countries like Tibet, Iran,
Pakistan, Bangladesh,Nepal and many more. And it keep on increasing (Source:Wikipedia)
I find quite amazing that all these peoples stay together
without much problems. Hats off to the
President and Prime Minister of such a country. They sure have a lot to look after.
Hope you had fun reading! Have a Happy Day ! :) Love you guys
